Welcome! I’m Vivian Daniel, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Florida, Georgia, Illinois, North Carolina, and South Carolina. By providing a safe and supportive environment that is welcoming, reassuring, and affirming, I help people journey towards feeling understood, recognizing their strengths, and discovering skills to improve their lives. Types of therapy I utilize include Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Somatic Approaches, Mindfulness and Self-Compassion.
Both my personal and professional experiences have shaped my work as a therapist.
My personal experience includes growing up as a child of Taiwanese immigrants, living overseas in Europe as an adult, advocating for social justice, and parenting my teens.
My professional experience includes providing individual, family, and group counseling at Duke University Medical Center, Elon University Counseling Center, the State of North Carolina area mental health program, and multiple behavioral health agencies, as well as providing clinical training and supervision to mental health clinicians and as a field instructor supervising graduate school degree seeking trainees for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Social Work. I completed my Bachelors in Psychology and my Masters in Social Work with a Mental Health concentration at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I am also a Certified Clinical Supervisor for masters level social workers.
Outside of the office you can find me reading, walking in the woods, taking road trips, watching sci-fi shows and movies, and exploring new restaurants.
